The Premio AccadeMibac is a new Prize promoted and produced by the Directorate-General for Contemporary Art and Architecture and Urban Peripheries of the MiBAC. The Prize was created to promote young Italian artists and valorize Fine Arts Academies as institutions offering a higher education in the arts.

In particular, the Prize offers experiences for professional growth to Italian artists under 28 years of age studying at or graduates of a Fine Arts Academy.

The Prize consists of three opportunities:
- an invitation to participate in an important Exhibition held in occasion of the Art Quadriennale in 2020;
- funding for the production of an artwork for the Exhibition;
- a three- or six-month foreign artist-in-residency programme offered by a high profile European organisation.

The Fondazione La Quadriennale di Roma is actively involved in the organisation and realisation of the Prize.

The Prize is open to state and legally recognised private Fine Arts Academies.
Each Academy has the chance to nominate up to three artists under 28 years of age, selected among its students or graduates. Candidatures must be received via email no later than July 29, 2019.

A Jury of experts will evaluate candidates based on curriculum, portfolio and a motivational letter. A total of ten artists will be selected to participate in an Exhibition to be held in occasion of the Art Quadriennale 2020 (at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome from October 1, 2020 to January 11, 2021), the main collateral event in 2020.
Each of the ten selected artists will receive a total of 10,000 Euro for the production of an artwork, to be agreed upon with the curator of the Exhibition. The authors of the three artworks considered most significant by the Jury, will have the opportunity to participate in a foreign artist-in-residence programme, of three or six months, offered by a high profile European organisation.
