Mario Cucinella, commissioned by the MiBAC to curate the Padiglione Italia at the 16th International Architecture Exhibition at the Venice Biennale, has launched the “Archipelago Italy” Call.Download the Brief
The Call was created to learn about examples that emphasise the potential role of contemporary architecture in settlements located at great distances from large urban centres and extraneous to the dynamics of metropolitan cities. Often perceived as marginal spaces of transit, in reality they have the potential to acquire a central role in the dialogue between new needs and the historic layers of the landscape.
The Call is open to individual or associated designers or clients, intent on presenting works coherent with the theme and objectives of the research and realised in the territories of internal areas.
The procedure will identify the most coherent theme or themes in relation to four different sections: inhabiting, connecting, sharing and progressing.
Applications must be submitted in accordance with the instructions contained in the Brief.
