Supporting young Italian researchers with quality educational experiences and, at the same time, promoting an awareness of Italian art abroad.
These are the objectives that led to the creation of the NEW YORK FELLOWSHIP project, the result of a collaboration between the DGAAP, the Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa and the Center for Italian Modern Art in New York (CIMA), an exhibition and research space opened in 2013 to promote Italian modern and contemporary art to an international public.
Open to students of Italian nationality, the project provides a study grant for a period of education in New York at the CIMA in Soho, as part of the Fellowship Programs – academic year 2016-2017.
The awarding committee of the “Fellowship at CIMA 2016-2017”, announced by the Scuola Normale Superiore together with the Center for Italian Modern Art (CIMA) in New York and the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism, Directorate-General for Contemporary Art and Architecture and Urban Peripheries (DGAAP) on 4 April 2016, assigned the Fellowship to Mr Fabio Cafagna. .
