The Directorate-General for Contemporary Art and Architecture and Urban Peripheries – DGAAP is pleased to announce the second edition of “CREATIVE LIVING LAB. Quality, Creativity, Sharing” initiative  for the shared urban renewal of peripheral areas. The project promotes innovative cultural and creative projects oriented toward the renewal and transformation of interstitial, abandoned or decommissioned spaces, areas or buildings and uncared for natural areas.

“CREATIVE LIVING LAB” is open to public and private subjects operating in the field of culture. Proposals must involve local stakeholders and foster participatory actions carried out by communities for communities. Projects should develop with the support of a multidisciplinary team of cultural mediators such as architects, landscape architects, designers, artists, film and theatre directors, film-makers, photographers, musicians, performers, authors, psychologists, sociologists and anthropologists.
Proposals may include micro-projects and educational activities such as workshops, seminars, laboratories, exhibition and didactic itineraries developed over the course of six months.
The DGAAP will provide a total budget of 600,000 Euro and a maximum contribution for each project of 35,000 Euro.
With the second edition of “Creative Living Lab”, the DGAAP continues to search for methods of intervening in Italy’s peripheries, approached as territories with social, economic and environmental fragilities, often close to the physical centre of the city. The intention is to involve different expressions of contemporary creativity in the urban and socio-cultural renewal of territories and communities.
