There are 7 winners of the Festival dell’architettura, the initiative that promotes awareness among citizens of the importance of quality architecture as a driver of the country’s civil, social and economic progress.
This public call provides a total of 240,000 euros of funding for three festivals to be realised anywhere in Italy. To permit a broader diffusion of the awareness of architecture, considering the elevated quality of the proposals received, the budget was increased to a total of 493,500 euros.
The winning projects are:

  • BiArch - Bari International Archifestival, City of Bari
  • CHANGE - Architecture Cities Life, Associazione Open City Roma
  • Design for the Next Community, City of Ivrea
  • SI ARCH FEST - South Italy Architecture Festival, FCP Farm Cultural Park
  • 2050 ArchiFest - Abitare il mondo altrimenti, City of Val d’Elsa
  • Rigenera, Ordine APPC di Reggio Emilia
  • I confini del cambiamento. Cagliari tra terra e acqua. Architettura e luoghi sensibili, University of Cagliari


The “Festival dell’architettura” project received a total of 49 submissions from across Italy.
The projects were selected by a jury nominated by the Director General of the Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity and comprised of five members: the architect Maurizio Pece of the Directorate-General and President of the jury, the architect Attilio Terragni, dott. Manuel Orazi, dott.ssa Silvia Barbarotta and the architect Luciano Antonino Scuderi.

The “FESTIVAL DELL’ARCHITETTURA” programme is part of the institutional actions implemented by the Directorate-General with the intention of seeking possible methods for promoting contemporary architecture, favouring the diffusion of quality architecture and urban planning and developing an integrated approach that uses innovative and inclusive processes to trigger interventions of urban regeneration.
