Rome, 5th July 2018 – The DGAAP has announced the ten winners of the third edition of the Italian Council. Among the 60 proposals submitted from all over the world - from United States to Brazil, from Ethiopia to Japan - the projects of the artists Nico Angiuli, Salvatore Arancio, Stefano Arienti, Rosa Barba, Elisabetta Benassi, Botto & Bruno, Eva and Franco Mattes, Mimmo Paladino, Diego Perrone, Diego Tonus have been selected.
The winning projects has been proposed by: Point Centre for Contemporary Art, Fondazione Malvina Menegaz per le Arti e le Culture, Van Eyck Academie, Museo Nazionale Romano, La Venaria Reale, Fondazione Merz, Fondazione Pistoletto, Whitechapel Gallery and The Blank Contemporary Art.
The senior members of the review committee were: Federica Galloni, Carlos Basualdo, Stefano Baia Curioni, Maria Grazia Messina and Alberto Salvadori.
"The third edition of the Italian Council closes with an important result: the number of international proposals has increased, and the creative value of the projects has been confirmed once again. We believe in the potential of Italian artists and in the importance of promoting the Italian artistic output at the international level. We therefore have decided to emphasize our commitment by immediately launching the fourth edition of the call with the allocation of a budget of over 1 million euros," said the Director-General Federica Galloni.
