ITALIAN COUNCIL: Promuovere la produzione, la conoscenza e la disseminazione della creazione contemporanea italiana nel campo delle arti visive

It is the main project of the DGAAP to promote the production, knowledge and dissemination of contemporary Italian creation in the field of visual arts.

Italian Council: Now in its Fifth Edition

The DGAAP is pleased to announce the fifth edition of the Italian Council project, with a budget of 621,000 Euro. Winners will receive financing for up to 140,000 Euro or a maximum of 80% of the total project budget.

The Italian Council project is an international call promoted by the DGAAP to support contemporary Italian creativity. The project provides financing for the creation of artworks by Italian artists that will be used to increase the collections of public Italian museums.
Projects can be presented by Italian and foreign museums, public and private not for profit entities, university institutions, foundations and non-profit cultural associations.

The project looks favourably on projects involving foreign organisations and Italian Cultural Institutions, as well as those able to establish synergies with international cultural events and exhibitions.

“Basing ourselves on the significant results achieved in the previous editions, we are proud to start the new year with a new call of the Italian Council. In the two-year period 2017-2018 we have funded 34 projects, involving more than 100 institutions around the world, and reached a budget of more than 3 million euros. For this reason, we want to continue to support Italian contemporary art at international level and we will introduce new elements in the next editions of the program” said Federica Galloni.

Those interested in participating in the call must register on the website from 21 January 2019. Applications must be submitted using the forms provided no later than 12:00 noon (CET) on 7 March 2019.
