The Directorate-General for Contemporary Art and Architecture and Urban Peripheries (DGAAP) is announcing the call ‘PRENDI PARTE! AGIRE E PENSARE CREATIVO’ to finance cultural projects that bring creative activities to areas characterised by economic and social marginalisation. The call is open to non-profit public and private cultural institutions dedicated to contemporary creativity and situated in urban peripheries. Proposals, to be presented in partnership with at least one third sector organisation, must be linked to projects that ensure the important involvement of young people between the ages of 18 and 29 – with a particular focus on those who have left school and are unemployed – in order to stimulate social cohesion. Programmes of activities must last for at least 6 months and be rooted in the needs of specific local territories, their critical conditions and possible opportunities.
The DGAAP will provide a total of 600 thousand Euro, up to a maximum of 60 thousand Euro per project, which must not exceed 80% of the total project budget.

Those interested in participating must first register online at between 16 March 2018 and no later than 12 noon (CET) on 30 April 2018.

With ‘PRENDI PARTE! AGIRE E PENSARE CREATIVO’, the DGAAP confirms its commitment to favouring access to culture also by those with less opportunities and living in peripheral territories, or areas characterised by conditions of marginalisation. The desire is to contribute to cultural growth across Italy, Director General Federica Galloni explains. “In the wake of the programmes ‘Art in Light’ and ‘School: A Space Open to Culture’ we continue to invest creative energies in young people, offering them the possibility to develop their potentialities and find employment in a market that appreciates creativity and a capacity for innovation”.

Those interested in participating must first register online at beginning on 16 March 2018.
Registered participants will successively have access to the submission procedure, including all requested material. Applications must be signed by the legal representative of each applicant no later than 12 noon (CET) on the 30 April 2018.
